When I became a mom, I didn’t expect to wear so many hats. Nurse, chef, chauffeur, bedtime storyteller—and eventually, reluctant tutor. Three of my four kids had some form of developmental delay. School was hard for them, and helping them through it felt impossible for me. I wasn’t an educator—I was just a mom trying to help my children thrive.

At first, I struggled. I would Google every term from their IEPs and search Pinterest for ideas that rarely worked. I felt overwhelmed, guilty, and frustrated. I kept asking myself: How can I support them when I don’t even know where to start?

That’s when the teachers stepped in.

💛 The Power of a Teacher Who Shares

Each time one of my kids had a teacher who took the time to explain things to me, everything changed. They didn’t just teach my children—they taught me.

They showed me:

  • Simple activities that supported what was happening in the classroom
  • Ways to build confidence through routine and play
  • How to use music, visuals, and games to help with focus and learning

I wasn’t just guessing anymore—I was learning alongside my children.

🛠️ The Tools I Was Given (That You Can Use Too!)

Here are some of the practical strategies and tools those incredible teachers passed along that made a big difference in our home:

  • Printable activity sheets: Not just “busywork,” but engaging worksheets that matched their learning level and kept their hands (and minds) busy.
  • Educational songs and music games: Perfect for memory, speech, and focus—especially helpful with my younger ones.
  • Hands-on projects: Simple science experiments and crafts that turned after-school hours into learning time without the fight.
  • Consistent praise and progress tracking: I learned how to celebrate small wins and build momentum through encouragement instead of pressure.

These tools weren’t flashy. They were easy. And they worked.

🎯 Why I Built This Site

After years of trial, error, and success—I wanted to share what worked for us. That’s why I created Kids Online Activities. It’s a place for parents like me, who want to help their kids but aren’t quite sure where to start.

Everything here is designed to be:

  • Parent-friendly (even if you’re not a teacher)
  • Kid-approved (tested on my own crew!)
  • Flexible for different ages and developmental stages

✨ You’re Not Alone

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or just looking for new ways to make learning fun—you’re in the right place. My hope is that this site becomes the same kind of support for you that those teachers were for me.

Let’s learn together.
